Who

We Are

The Climate Resilience Centre (CRC) is a non-profit organization established by a group of professionals with a strong drive to build climate resilience in Sri Lanka and beyond, with a primary focus on Asia. We believe in working together with communities and other stakeholders following a co-learning approach. Every stakeholder group involved in a climate problem has a story to tell and valuable insights to contribute. Our philosophy is to provide opportunities and safe environments for all to improve their knowledge, wisdom and skills and to contribute. To this mix, we bring international best practice guidelines, and global experiences and co-design our projects with beneficiaries and donors to maximize impact.

What

We Do

Drawing from our extensive international network of world-renowned experts, we perform the main activities below:

Climate-Focused Water Sector Training

Organize and deliver tailor-made training and short courses on the broader water sector, with a focus on climate change impacts and adaptation

Integrated Climate Risk Assessments

Perform climate change hazard and risk assessment in water-related sectors (including meteorology and hydrology, agriculture, water supply and sanitation, Port, harbour and coastal, urban and coastal flooding)

Nature-Based Climate Solutions

Design and Implement nature-based solutions for climate risk reduction (e.g. Sustainable Drainage Systems, Riverbank restoration, mangrove forest restoration/enhancement, dune field stabilization, Lake rehabilitation)

Country-Scale Climate Projections

Provide state-of-the-art climate projections at the country scale

Climate-Conscious Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring solutions related to climate change

Customized Climate Downscaling Services

Perform tailored high-resolution downscaling of climate projections at country, district, and catchment scales

Stakeholder engagement

Organize and deliver stakeholder meetings on climate-related topics

Unbiased Climate Project Evaluation

Independent peer review of climate-related projects and proposals

Comprehensive Climate Awareness and Support Program

Organize and implement Awareness program on climate change to students in Universities, High schools and primary schools, including assisting school children with donating necessary stationaries and lab equipment in rural arias.
